My grandfather John Green, formerly Jonas

Grinczulaitis born in Bellshill Scotland died today

at the age of 93 in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Services and Burial will be held in Glen Burnie

Maryland.

He is preceeded in death by his wife Mary

McDougall Green in 2003. He was the son of

Wincas Grinczulaitis and Marijona Zemaicuitis

both of Lithuania.

During World War II he served His Majesty in

the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers - 1st Bat in Egypt.

From where he walked home to Scotland to marry my

grandmother on 30 May 1941. Three days later he

turned himself into the local Bellshill Police in full

uniform and was eventually returned to the Middle

East end eventually Italy.

My grandparents immigrated to America on 24 February

1947 settling in Baltimore City.

The past two months have seen dramatic changes in my life from every corner. And when everyone said it couldn't get worse it did. My beloved Gracie died unexpectedly and suddenly. What I witnessed at the Emergency Animal Hospital was shocking and the image burned into my heart.

Gracie, Princess Velvet Face and PooNoo died at 5 years.

Moments later I saw a girl walk to the VW understandably upset going "F this F'ing that" and I watched as she shoved the cart further along into the garage. Then IRONICALLY I noticed she was wearing a TJ's uniform. Then she walked back to the store in a huff, leaving the cart to hit the next car.

The Liberty Ship John W. Brown

We toured the Liberty Ship JOHN W. BROWN. I was amazed

by this ship. First built in just 42 days during WWII and then

if it made just one trip it would have paid for itself! This ship

made 13 crossings.

The volunteers who run the ship are veery knowledgable

and more than willing to share the story, their story and

everything about this ship. Maybe that's what made it

different----instead of run by the government this ship is

run by people who love her.

It picked up "FBI Surveillance Van" I thought it just can't

be so...... Could someone have named their Wi-fi this on purpose

I love the Fells Point Festival! It signifies to me that Autumn

is here. And today was COLD.....it was only 11 degrees.

I didn't know that the John Brown was here today. I always

wanted to your this Liberty Ship. It's one of two surviving.

And this one was built in just 42 days here in Baltimore!

Inner Harbor East looks so smart from the water.

The old Proctor and Gable building where my Grandmother,

Father and Uncle all worked.

Jim and I went downtown today and happened across the

United States Coast Guard Clipper Eagle! It was open for

tours so we went on board. Strangely, I don't like cruising

but I love touring boats and ships.

I never knew this was originally a German ship part of the

Kreigsmarine.

No one was swimming or surfing in it

Ocean City should tax each Harley-Davison $500 per day

and they refund the difference vs receipts for goods and

The Fire Alarm

Jim and I stood in the parking lot under the building waiting

for the fire department to check out the alarm.

I was surprised by the lack of people in the parking lot. I

wonder if they stayed in their condos? I take safety seriously.

Very seriously. If the alarm for the whole building in sounding

then it can only mean one thing----GET OUT-----until the

professionals come and check it out.

So Gracie and I left within two minutes of the alarm. Down the

steps of course.

Then standing in the garage I see Jim appear.....out of the elevator!

Now granted there was no visible smoke or fire but still I would

never take the elevator!

OC Bike Week

Thousands of motorcycles and then rain do not mix well.

Last night we saw motocyclist laying in the street face first

in the flooded out bus lane.......nno ambo, fire or police yet.

But sveral people did pull over to help him.

I know now that bike week is not "my" week to every visit

anyplace on earth that has one. It's too noisy and the

Harley Davidson people all gun there bikes. I really think

they should all be ticketed for violating noise ordinaces.

The inlet beach is nearly all Hispanics

Taco's right onthe beach! I said to Jim how come we just

make turkey sandwiches.....I said in general European-Americans

would never dream of cooking on a crowded beach, dragging

I took my grandmother to Sabatino's for dinner after we

left the hospital. It was Restaurant week and lunch was

$20 for a salad, entree, pasta and dessert.

I love Sabatino's in Little Italy. It's like stepping back in

time, the food is consistently good and I hope the NEVER

change including the decor.
